Beautiful Pink Flowers and Fragrance Through Winter

    • RHS Recommended: AGM

    • Highly fragrant pink flowers from late autumn to early spring

    • Flowers appear on bare branches before the spring leaves

    • Upright, deciduous shrub with attractive autumn foliage

    • Hardy and easy to grow in sun or partial shade

When much of the garden has settled down for winter, Viburnum 'Dawn' is just getting started. Clusters of deep pink buds open into beautifully fragrant, pale pink flowers, bringing welcome colour and scent from around November through to March. The flowers appear along the bare stems, making them particularly noticeable at a time when few other shrubs are in bloom.

The sweet perfume is one of its greatest attractions. Plant this winter-flowering viburnum beside a front door, garden path or somewhere you regularly walk past, and you'll be able to enjoy the fragrance on milder winter days. Its upright habit also makes it a lovely choice for the back of a mixed border, where the flowers can stand out against evergreen planting.

Fresh green leaves appear in spring, providing a leafy backdrop through summer before developing attractive autumn tones. Hardy and low-maintenance, this RHS Recommended: AGM shrub grows happily in most reasonably fertile, well-drained soils and needs little attention once established.
