After receiving your hedgehog house, you should place it in a dry, sheltered spot, and then cover with a thick layer of dry leaves and twigs. Avoid placing too many leaves inside, as hedgehogs love to furnish their homes as part of their hibernation routine. The opening should be left clear, and ideally facing south or south-west to avoid northerly winds.
