Duchess gives a brilliant garden display and is a very popular cut flower. The plants are well branched and sturdy with large double flowers and incurving petals giving plants a chrysanthemum-like look.
They flower well into autumn for prolonged garden interest.

How to Guide
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in warmth 15-20C (60-70F) and keep moist.

Potting on/Thining Out
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from bright sun. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm (2in) apart into trays of potting compost.
Hardening Off/Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out from April onwards. Allow 30cm (12in) between plants.
