When to plant Cauliflower Seeds

Once the seedlings are strong enough and the outdoor conditions are suitable, transplant them outside after the danger of frost has passed, usually in late spring or early autumn.

How to Plant Cauliflower Seeds

Sow cauliflower seeds in seed trays or small pots filled with seed compost, about 1-2 cm deep. Keep the trays in a warm, bright location at a temperature of around 18°C. Ensure the compost stays moist but not waterlogged. When the seedlings have developed a few leaves and the outdoor temperatures are warm enough, transplant them into the garden or raised beds, spacing the plants about 45-60 cm apart. Ensure the soil is fertile and well-drained, and keep the plants consistently watered.
