An exceptionally great value all in one reusable plastic greenhouse kit suitable for the unheated growing of up to 216 individual plants at the same time. The 9 cell trays are ideal for the direct sowing of single or multiple seeds of vegetables and flowers, when rooting cuttings, or for potting on smaller plugs to make into larger plants ready to be planted out into the garden. The cell trays are extra deep encouraging healthier root growth, accommodates larger plants which will establish better in the garden, and make this kit also suitable for deeper rooted plants such as sweet peas, sweetcorn, and peas and beans.

For seeds that need a higher temperature to germinate this seed sowing kit can also be used in conjunction with the medium heated mat for a single tray or the large heated mat for two trays together, providing higher rooting temperatures for seeds such as tomatoes and peppers.

The kit contains the following:

2 x watering trays – these professional base trays are flat bottomed and rise to a depth of 1” (2.5cm). They contain the capillary mat and as a watering tray they have no holes which means it acts as a water reservoir. Overall Dimensions L:56.5cm, W:31cm, D:3cm

2 x capillary mats – These professional grade capillary mats fit snuggly into the watering trays and act as a wick between the water reservoir and the compost in the cell trays. It is well proven that capillary matting provides water to the plants at the roots where they need it and when they want it promoting more even growth than simply using a watering can. Overall Dimensions L:52cm, W:28cm, D:2mm. We recommend soaking the mats in water initially to ensure they are fully primed for water uptake.

2 x growing trays – these professional carry trays hold 6 of the individual cell trays and sits at the same time atop the capillary matting in the watering tray. When the growing tray is full of the 6 x 9 cell trays it allows for up to 54 plants to be grown at the same time making it easier to grow the plants and handle/carry the plants all at the same time. The ridges in the base of this growing tray allow for water movement between cell trays and is designed to facilitate in good contact between the cell trays and capillary matting. 24 x 9 cell trays – These packs can produce 216 pants at the same time, 108 plants when used in conjunction with the trays at propagation stage and 108 plants can be growing on following successful initial growing and rooting. Made to fit the trays perfectly, they are of high quality plastic that allows for them to be reused many times, the individual cells are smooth allowing for easier plant removal ahead of planting out and they are deep meaning more root growth opportunity for the plants, better water and nutrient retaining capabilities and as such healthier stronger plants. The deep nature of these cell trays allos greater flexibility in use as they are ideal for deeper rooting varieties such as sweet peas, sweetcorn, peas and beans, which can all be started off in these trays and transplanted directly into their final position with no root disturbance. Overall Dimensions L:18.3cm, W:15.3cm, D:8cm. Each one of the cells in tray measures L:5.4cm, W: 4.4cm, D:8cm and holds 0.19L of compost. To fill one 9 cell tray would require 1.7L of compost and to fill all supplied 24 x 9 cell trays in the kit with good quality seed compost you would need 41 Litres of compost.

This seeds sowing kit can be used many times for many years and we would recommend the use of Citrox - an organic garden disinfectant, which can be used between sowings to clean all trays and capillary matting of any pests and diseases ahead of next usage.
