Three Bedding Favourites, One Colourful Collection

  • Three of our best-selling winter and spring bedding varieties
  • Colour, fragrance and interest from autumn through to spring
  • 60 Professional Grower Plugs – 20 of each variety
  • Perfect for beds, borders, patio pots and containers

Three customer favourites come together in this collection, each bringing something different to your seasonal displays. Pansy Matrix 'Blotched Mix' provides big, boldly marked flowers, Primrose 'Husky Mix' adds masses of cheerful colour, while Wallflower 'Sugar Rush Mix' brings height and sweet fragrance with its colourful flower spikes.

With 20 plants of each variety, you'll receive 60 Professional Grower Plugs in total, giving you plenty to fill your pots and borders. Plant each variety in generous groups for bold sweeps of colour or bring all three together, using the taller wallflowers behind the lower-growing pansies and primroses to create a layered display.

Together, they provide colour and interest from autumn into spring, with different flower shapes, heights and colours keeping things interesting as the seasons change. And with three of our best sellers already chosen for you, there's no agonising over which varieties to put together.

How To Grow

This collection gives you three different flower shapes, heights and colours to work with, so you can create displays with plenty of variety without having to choose the combinations yourself.

Plant Pansy Matrix 'Blotched Mix' in generous groups for bold colour, use Primrose 'Husky Mix' to fill the lower parts of pots and borders, and add Wallflower 'Sugar Rush Mix' for extra height and fragrance.

Spring-flowering bulbs such as daffodils, crocuses and tulips can also be planted beneath or between your bedding in autumn. They'll emerge through the display in spring, adding another layer of height and colour.

Top tip:
Repeat the same combination in more than one part of your garden. Using the same three varieties in a patio pot, border and container helps tie your seasonal planting together.

Pots & Containers

Choose pots and containers with good drainage holes and fill with good-quality multipurpose compost. Gently firm the compost rather than packing it down tightly, leaving around 2–3cm below the rim to make watering easier.

When planting the three varieties together, allow each one enough room to develop. Position the taller Wallflower 'Sugar Rush Mix' towards the centre or back of the container, with Pansy Matrix 'Blotched Mix' and Primrose 'Husky Mix' around the front and edges.

You can also plant each variety separately for stronger blocks of colour, using several plants of the same type together rather than scattering them individually.

Water thoroughly after planting and keep the compost moist but not waterlogged.

Top tip:
Use the different heights to your advantage. Wallflowers add structure and height, while pansies and primroses fill the lower part of the display and help create a fuller, layered look.

Creating Your Display

Keeping Your Display Looking Its Best

Keep your bedding plants watered during dry spells, paying particular attention to pots and containers, but avoid leaving the soil or compost waterlogged.

Remove faded flowers regularly where appropriate. Pinch or snip off the spent flower and its stem rather than removing only the petals, helping keep plants tidy and encouraging further flowers.

Flowering and growth may slow during particularly cold winter weather. This is normal – continue caring for your plants and they'll start putting on fresh growth again as conditions improve.

Plants growing in containers can be given a liquid feed while actively growing. There's little need to feed during very cold weather when growth has slowed; start again as active growth picks up towards spring.

Top tip:
Keep an eye on each variety separately as the display develops. The wallflowers, pansies and primroses may grow at slightly different rates, so a little regular tidying will help the whole display stay balanced.

Guide To Plant Sizes

Professional Grower Plugs:
Supplied in trays of 20 or 60, Professional Grower Plugs offer excellent value and are ideal for gardeners who enjoy growing plants on themselves. These young plants arrive ready to be potted into 9cm pots and grown on in a bright, sheltered position before being hardened off and planted into their final position.

Garden Ready Plants:
Supplied in trays of 12, Garden Ready Plants are our largest plug plants and a great choice if you want quicker results. Carefully grown on before dispatch, they're ready to plant straight into beds, borders, pots or containers.
