Narcissus 'Paperwhite Ziva' is an incredibly fragrant white daffodil for growing indoors over winter. Each stem produces multiple pure white flowers to fill your home with their sweet, spicy scent. This gorgeous indoor narcissus makes a beautiful table centrepiece for festive meals.

How you will receive your bulbs:

Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive spring-flowering bulbs in the autumn in a breathable mesh bag. This is to keep the bulbs together in a pack that is nice and airy – perfect to keep the bulbs healthy while in transit.

Can’t plant straight away?

Keep your bulbs in a cool, light, and dry place and preferably hanging on a hook so that air can get to the bulbs at all angles. Ideally, you should aim to plant your bulbs within a week of receiving them, but if this is not possible, store them in a cool, dark place until you are ready to plant them.

Planting tips and hints:

Paperwhite narcissus are tender bulbs and need to be grown indoors over winter. Plant the bulbs any time between October and January, approximately 4-6 weeks before you want them to flower.

Planting in a container with drainage:

Choose a shallow pot with a drainage hole and place it on a driptray. Place a stone or a pot shard inside the pot to cover the drainage hole and stop it being blocked up with compost.

Fill the pot with multi-purpose compost almost to the top of the pot. Press the Narcissus Paperwhite bulbs into the compost with their pointed ends facing upwards, so that the top half of the bulb is above the compost. The bulbs can be placed close together so that they are almost touching. Firm the compost around the bulbs and water enough to moisten the compost.

Place the pot on its drip tray on a sunny windowsill. Water regularly, just enough to keep the compost moist but not sodden. Don’t let the pot sit in a saucer filled with water for long periods or the bulbs may rot.

Planting in a clear vase:

Half-fill a clear glass or plastic vase with horticultural grit that has been well washed.

Press the bulbs gently into the gravel with their pointed ends upwards, and pour a little more gravel around them. Pour water into the vase until the water level just reaches the bases of the bulbs.

Place the vase on a sunny windowsill. Top up the water when necessary to keep it just touching the bases of the bulbs.
