Description
A free-fruiting primocane raspberry variety, that forms extra-long conical fruit on first-year old spineless wood. Support canes as they grow in spring, and once the fruit forms in their first late-summer they abound around the plant, bright-coloured and easy to pick.
Simply cut fruited stems to the ground in the spring of each year and add a generous layer of manure or organic matter around the base of the canes to feed the soil.
Your plant will arrive as bare-root specimens, inspected and certified by DEFRA, ready to plant from autumn through to early spring around 30cm (12in) apart.
When grown in the garden, cropping is from mid August through to mid September and as it is a Primocane variety, you will be picking your first crop in its first year.
Primocane (autumn-fruiting) varieties fruit on canes produced in the current year. After cropping, these should be cut down to ground level to promote the growth of new canes.
Remove all packaging from your bare root plant and steep the roots in water while preparing the ground for planting. Plant immediately if you can, or place plants temporarily in a cool, airy position with the roots covered loosely in soil for a maximum of a couple of days before planting in their permanent position.
